Hi, I’m Jennifer — a mom, biology major, and the founder of Tumble and Sprout Toy Store! For over a decade, I’ve owned and operated 30A Babysitters, a trusted childcare agency serving families along Florida’s Emerald Coast. A few years ago, I expanded to the Saint Augustine, Ponte Vedra, and Amelia Island areas, continuing my passion for supporting families and children. Through both my work and my own journey as a mother, I’ve spent years observing how kids grow, learn, and thrive. One thing is always clear: children are natural scientists... curious, imaginative, and full of wonder.

While studying biology at Texas Woman’s University, I had the chance to learn from Ph.D. researchers who closely studied the effects of plastic exposure, including its role as an endocrine disruptor. Today, we’re learning even more about how microplastics are showing up in our bodies — in our organs, and even our brains. That knowledge hit home for me as a parent, and it shifted the way I thought about what I brought into my home. I became committed to choosing toys made from safe, natural, and sustainable materials whenever possible.

And that’s what inspired Tumble and Sprout, a thoughtfully curated toy store offering Montessori materials, Waldorf-inspired toys, outdoor play essentials, and hands-on science and STEAM kits for every age, from babies to big kids and beyond. Whether it’s a soft silk play cloth, a beautiful wooden puzzle, or a backyard bug explorer kit, everything we offer is designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and a deep connection to the world around them. These values are at the heart of both the Montessori and Waldorf philosophies, which I’ve explored through homeschooling, public school volunteering, and sending my daughter to a Montessori School.

We know that no home is perfectly plastic-free — and that’s okay! Plastic toys serve a purpose too. But when safe, sustainable alternatives are available and affordable, we’re proud to offer them. Every product at Tumble and Sprout is thoughtfully chosen based on how it will be used, the materials it’s made from, and the experience it creates for your child. Some items may include recycled materials or limited plastic components, while others are crafted entirely from wood, cotton, wool, or silk.
